FALLing into a new season…

…while looking good and doing some good!

Fall is finally here, bringing crisp & cool nights, bonfires, football games, Halloween candy and a time of transitioning; while the leaves change, I, too, like to revamp my game, treating the new season like the new year.

To begin, I am showing off fun fall outfits AND a fun jewelry line…

AUrate is all about durable materials (made in New York), transparent pricing (several affordable options), sustainable production (using quality golds, silvers, diamonds and pearls), and tangible giving (as each piece of jewelry sold gives an economically underprivileged child a book). The brand is also currently challenging people to think about day-to-night looks.

Fashion + Literature + Charity + Sparkle + NYC = ❤

This seemed like the perfect outfit challenge to join in on, since, as a full-time freelancer, I may have to meet a client at his office then attend a fashion event or chat about a new potential work opportunity then go out for happy hour. And when I do get the chance to leave the house and dress up (and not just be in my PJs while on my laptop), I – of course! – want to look and feel my best.

Therefore, my go-to day-to-night looks =

Blazer + Dress

This electric blue dress is perfect for anywhere, at any time. With a blazer, it’s great for meetings, the office and photos with Bart The Skeleton (no, it’s not too early to put up your Halloween decorations). Dress: City Triangle (Similar: Nordstrom’s Crepe Skater Dress) Blazer: Allen B. (Similar: Lord & Taylor’s Nipon Blazer) Flats: Steve Madden

Ditch the blazer and grab a clutch to hold your ID and cell phone, and you’re ready for happy hour! All that’s missing is the perfect gold ring.

Jumpsuits are back (Yay!) and versatile. I paired this black one with a tied-up tee, to give it a more covered-up and work-ready vibe for a day of meetings in Downtown Austin. Jumpsuit: Olivaceous (Similar: ASOS’ Denim Jumpsuit) Flats: Chinese Laundry

Tee off, hair down, (possible statement earring added), and you’re ready for an evening event!

Jeans + Jacket

I could live in black skinny jeans, and they, too, can be dressed up or down. I could wear these fall-inspired clothing items for a day of writing – including a great leather jacket, which can be taken off when the Texas heat decides it’s not ready to leave. Jeans: Old Navy Jacket: Daytrip (Similar: Buckle’s Daytrip Canvas Jacket) Booties: DbDk (Similar: DSW’s Unisa Piera Bootie)

Switch tops when heading to a fun party, and you can easily transition from FriDAY to FriNIGHT! Plus, a classic gold necklace is great for work and for a night out!

Right now, though, I am back in my comfy/sloppy clothes, and it’s time for a scary movie marathon! I urge you to shake up your day-to-night looks, though, to check out AUrate’s gorgeous line and to think about how you, too, can do some good for others…all while FALLing in love with fashion, a new time and life in general…<3
