A Wish List Inspired By Teen Dramas

How old are you?

What year is this?

You may be asking yourself these questions, but bear with me…

“Pretty Little Liars”, based on a book series, ran from June 8, 2010 – June 27, 2017.

“Gossip Girl”, based on a book series, ran from September 19, 2007 – December 17, 2012.

I didn’t watch either…until I did.

I thought PLL sounded interesting, and I watched the first couple of seasons on Netflix very quickly, and after that, Tuesday nights were PLL nights…until the show ended this year.

After I was caught up on Netflix and waiting for current episodes to come on, I decided to start GG, too, got hooked, and was finishing the series up right around the time I was spending Christmas in New York (fitting:). Furthermore, I went years without knowing who Gossip Girl was…until right before I finished the series, when I read an interview with Hilary Duff (who guest starred in the show, making it even better:).

But, enough with the history lesson…

Here is a made-up holiday wish list, based on the fashion of PLL & GG!

“Gossip Girl”

First up, is Jenny Humphrey. Most people strongly disliked her angsty character, and it was weird watching her go from Cindy Lou Who in “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” to Little J and on to the goth lead singer of The Pretty Reckless. Nevertheless, her darkness worked when it came to fashion…

Next up, we have the Queen B. Blair Waldorf are I are both bossy brunettes, Scorpios, lovers of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and aspiring fashion editors. Her outfits on the show were usually a bit too preppy for me, though, I did love these looks…

And then there is Serena van der Woodsen. For being an it girl, I like Blake Lively’s looks way better! Nearly every time I see an outfit, I picture it on this leggy blonde body first…

“Pretty Little Liars”

Hanna Marin always had a flirty style, and I liked it when she added rough-and-tough elements to her looks, when she had the best layered items and when she grew up, got a job and sophisticated her look to perfection…

Emily Fields’ outfits were different versions of athletic, cozy items with Army or sporty jackets thrown over them…

In this show, I also related to another organized, leading brunette – who also dressed too preppy for my taste, but Spencer Hastings had some nice moments…

And the best dressed goes to…Aria Montgomery and her funky style…
